SiteVision To Create Custom Mobile Application For Western Virginia EMS Council

WVEMS_logoRoanoke, VA June 8, 2013:  The Western Virginia Emergency Medical Services Council (WVEMS) has implemented a strategy to make EMS Protocols readily available to all EMS personnel via a mobile application for iOS and Android platforms.  SiteVision, Inc. will create the mobile application.

The new application means that personnel in the field will have the emergency manual of protocols and procedures instantly available on their mobile devices whenever and wherever required.  The protocols give specific procedures for emergency situations based on a clickable comprehensive decision tree in a PDF format.   The protocols and procedures range from initial patient care evaluation to exacting responses for diverse airway, cardiac, injury, environmental, OB-GYN and other emergency situations. The manual also includes an updated medication reference.

wvems_mobile2SiteVision’s role is to create the Mobile application and updates, and to provide application documentation, quality assurance, project administration, testing and deployment to the appropriate platforms. As a major advantage, users will be able to easily download the application from the iOS or Android App stores.  Then, as protocols or procedures change and the application is updated, EMS personnel will receive automatic push notification of updates as they occur for immediate downloading.

WVEMS is a regional council under the auspices of the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services.  The combined councils are dedicated to facilitating regional cooperation, planning and the implementation of an integrated Emergency Medical Services system throughout Virginia.  The Council is also involved in performance improvement, continuing education and all pertinent EMS related events.

SiteVision to Integrate Georgia911 with Emergency Alerting System

Roanoke, VA January 24, 2013:   The  Georgia911 effort is a Crisis Care website specifically designed to assist hospitals and related services in their disaster preparedness – whether natural or man-made. It is provided to members by the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA). The new effort will synchronize the existing online portal with an external emergency high-speed notification system provided by Twenty First Century Communications (TFCC).

SiteVision, who has worked closely with GHA on its existing system, will integrate the 3rd party emergency alerting system with the web portal – thus allowing GHA hospital and affiliated members to receive SMS messages from the TFCC alerting system. All GHA911 members will also be contacts in the TFCC system allowing them to receive emergency text messages as they are issued. The integration permits GHA911 members to be synchronized with and participate in the alerting system without having to keep track of multiple logins or deal with multiple applications and logins.

The new integration will provide data synchronization to the alerting system for users, contacts and new users, and will provide pass-through login capabilities with ongoing bidirectional contact synchronization.  The applications will also provide a third party data feed module that allows for GHA911 Admin Users to monitor data feed transactions between GHA911 and TFCC, site documentation, Quality Assurance testing and final deployment.

Georgia hospitals began to plan for not only traditional disaster threats, but a real potential of terrorist attacks, including the use of chemical, biological, or nuclear warfare. Since a large scale disaster, whether natural or man-made, would require hospital resources that are far greater than those needed for everyday operations, hospitals recognized that advance planning for mutual aid is imperative.

To that end, Georgia911’s Crisis Care Module developed by SiteVision is among GHA efforts to provide a comprehensive and interactive database of each hospital’s capabilities. Statistics include a general profile, type of facility, emergency contacts, regular bed counts, ICU bed counts and more. SiteVision recently added a Nursing Home Module to include those facilities, as well.

The Georgia Hospital Association is a nonprofit trade association made up of member health systems, hospitals and individuals in administrative and decision-making positions within those institutions.  Its mission is to advance the health of individuals and communities by serving as the leading advocate for all Georgia hospitals and health care systems.

SiteVision Chosen to Enhance The Georgia Hospital Association’s Georgia 911 Web Portal

[image source_type=”attachment_id” source_value=”4633″ align=”left” size=”small” quality=”100″] Roanoke, VA December 6, 2012:  The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) has chosen SiteVision to develop a specialized nursing home module for the Association’s Emergency Preparedness Program – GHA911. The online website portal is a web browser-based application created to enhance the distribution of critical emergency management information needed by Georgia hospital and healthcare providers, as well as other local and state agencies.

GHA is a non-profit trade association whose mission is to promote the health and welfare of the public through the development of better hospital care for Georgia’s citizens.  The Georgia911 website provides a hub for vital news, information, tools and diversion status for Georgia hospitals and EMS organizations.  SiteVision was earlier chosen to implement a Crisis Care Module. The new module will modify the existing GHA911 application to handle the needs of Nursing Homes.

As threats to human health and national health security are always present, whether by natural, unintentional or intentional means, such threats can rapidly overwhelm public health and healthcare systems.  Under the guidance of US department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and its Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) GHA focuses on preparedness planning and response to strengthen the capabilities of Georgia hospitals and health care systems in public health emergencies and medical disasters. The GHA911 hub is critical to this mission.

The new effort is designed to bring Long-term care and nursing homes into the Georgia 911 portal; thereby, further enhancing the healthcare coalitions between Georgia’s state and local entities and between various public and private health care institutions.

Specifically SiteVision will modify the existing GHA911 application to include Nursing Homes and Nursing Home Management Organizations (NHMO’s) with custom member home pages, navigation specific to nursing homes, and new data points specific to nursing homes such as contact information and key personnel.  New administration features will help manage organization approvals, bed counts, and special needs. Included are Training videos and help documentation. A variety of other enhancements include the ability to update ad hoc and Council Coordinator reports.

SiteVision to Develop Phase II of the Georgia Hospital Association Emergency Preparedness Program – GHA911

[image source_type=”attachment_id” source_value=”4146″ align=”left” size=”Small 150 width”] Roanoke, VA June 25, 2012: The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) has chosen SiteVision to continue its development of the Association’s Emergency Preparedness Program – GHA911. The online website portal is a web browser-based application created to enhance the distribution of critical emergency management information needed by Georgia hospital and healthcare providers, as well as other local and state agencies.

GHA911 is among the ways GHA is helping Georgia Hospitals plan for traditional disasters, as well as the potential for terrorist attacks that would include the use of chemical, biological or nuclear warfare. The website includes disaster readiness information to healthcare members, and provides tools and resources to assist in disaster preparedness and mutual aid planning.

Phase I of the project, which was designed and implemented by SiteVision, was patterned after a highly successful Virginia state-wide program also developed by SiteVision for the Virginia Healthcare and Hospital Association (VHHA). The Georgia portal (members only) for participating hospital and healthcare participants provides a comprehensive overview of each hospital’s capabilities such as its general profile, type of facility, emergency contacts, regular bed counts, ICU bed counts and more.

The Crisis Care Module is designed to capture each hospital’s readiness and capability in a crisis environment. Members can access bed availability, diversion status, important medical supplies, staffing, etc. in an emergency. In addition to cataloging critical physical and administrative capabilities, each facility can identify the tactics (such as prepare, substitute, adapt, conserve and reallocate) that they would be using during a disaster. Data may also be shared with Federal and State agencies. Phase II of the program builds on Phase 1 to provide other user enhancements such as additional calendar functions, status board and transaction report updates, map views, as well as numerous other reports and capabilities.
